This sandfly likes hot and humid climates.
Ingests
Leishmania
amastigotes
while taking blood meals from dogs, people and other animals.
Amastigotes change into promastigotes
and multiply in the gut of the female sandfly.
Promastigotes migrate to the proboscis of the sandfly and get injected into another animal at the next blood meal.
